Hi. I have a set of original mm 1 sun visors that need a deep clean to fit to my project. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to clean them. I am a bit cautious as I don't want to damage then. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use a nail brush when cleaning grained vinyl. Also, if you do use a product like Vanish (or other household cleaner) then I would suggest using a vinyl finisher/restorer in case the cleaner dries out the vinyl and causes it to crack.

Autoglym sell this http://www.autoglym....and-rubber-care

There are various other vinyl care products available.

Also on my 1962 mk1 with the seats and door cards to prevent using any chemicals I just used a steam cleaner then wiped with microfibre cloths it really shifted the grime from the grain and hasn't harmed them in any way. Not sure about sun visors though as they are padded and maybe heat could cause an issue

I also done this on my car, I was really surprised how well the steam removed the dirt

Thanks all. The cleaning agents have done a reasonable job. Will try the steam cleaner to finish off. Thanks.
