Just bought a mini van which some One has fitted side windows which I hate. Thinking of turning it into a pickup as can't get new side panels. Can it be done ??

Cant see why not if u have time money and effort. Though the vans and estates are slanted at the rear and pickup is straight.

We sell the upper van panels in fibreglass should you need to repair your van.

Like jorde said the rear of a van/estates are slanted so if you wanted to mate your van in to a pickup that look right you would need side panels rear corners tailgate a bulkhead for be hide the seats aswell.

The bulkhead and rear corners are hard to get hold of.

I have seen van/estate pickup they don't look to bad with the slanted back

However you will of course destroy its current and future value as a classic car.....

 

You would perhaps be better paneling in the side windows or accepting the windows as a 'period mod' which was very common from the 1960's on combined with a rear seat conversion.

Wonder how much one of those rear seats goes for nowadays? My friend has one made by "Martin Walter" but I don't have any pictures at the moment.

Legally it would have to be a Q-Plate if you convert it. Which could also potentially destroy its value.

There are a few converted panel vans over here and honestly they all look crappy.
I'd keep it as a panel van and keep the side windows.

I agree making a pick up out of it will destroy it if you want a pick up buy one but don't cut the van up

Yeah suppose so,just don't want to fibreglass sides either want to fill in windows with metal.

There is someone who makes replacement metal top quarter for vans that have had windows put in. They were advertising them on one of the Mini facebook pages no too long ago.
