Can anyone offer some advice on this please.

When fitting my subframe I pre bent the front to rear brake pipe to run it up and over the subframe (the way its supposed to go?).

Once the subframe was fitted the brake pipe is now to short to bend into place to connect to the T Piece :-(

Should I:

a. Try and pull it back through and run it under the Subframe, may damage my new paint or the pipe trying to get it out?

b. Make up some form of connector to join the pipes?

c. By a new front to rear pipe and run it under the Subframe?

Here's the pic:

Thanks

With such a nice paint job there is indeed a serious risk of paint damage, up to you but I would make a short adaptor with the correct joiner which some cars use from the factory

Put a join on it and connect a shorter piece of pipe. Shame to undo all that hard work....

There's not much scope in the pipe to creep a bit from anywhere. If I were to put a joiner in it, I'd possibly be inclined to fit it under the floor section and make up a new shorter piece to go from there, up over and onto the subframe.

Having also been caught out on the same pipe years ago, in a similar way, While I usually make off the front of the pipe, on the back end, I make them what I think to be about 150 mm longer than they need be and not make them off until the frames are in. I ended up replacing the pipe when I did it, fortunately being a long length it didn't go to waste, but I could see from that how easy it would be to do so on the shorter pipes, so now I alsways make sure I have a bit more than what  think / measured to need.

Make up a short male to male line and use one of these:

Sounds like a plan but I don't have any pipe flaring tools etc and don't really want to buy any, just found the item in the picture here, it's a 3/8 UNF is that standard or is there a possibility that mine could be different?

At that end of the car, there should be no metric brake line fittings.

If you don't know anyone that can knock you one up, this should do the job:

Looks like a solution for about a tenner - I like it, thanks Graeme.

Grahams solution is good and it reminded me to have a look for this pipe;-

That'll screw straight on to you pipe that's too short without the joiner.

I thought about that too, but I felt getting a reliable seal on a copper to copper joint (without overtightening and closing off the bore) might be a bit hit and miss.

I've done it with steel lines OK. We can't use Copper here, so I don't know. Copper to Steel should be OK.

shoud'nt there be a loop in the pipe to allow movement of the subframe?

Just found a pic of the rear brake setup before I removed the Subframe, yup it came over the top :-)

Geeze it looks different now :-)

Bumped into a fella today that owns a classic Mini and works in a garage and says if he can find some UNF connectors he'll make me up a pipe. A chance meeting.

You could always fit a short flexi hose ...
