HI Guys

Myself and my brother recently purchased a  1977-78 Leyland built mini moonlight.

We cant seem to find jack on the internet about this "SPECIAL" version mini, seems its a norm with rare things in this country.

Anyhow... lovely forum guys, will use it to the full extent while discovering what this mini moonlight really is and also share our journey with everyone whilst restoring this beauty.

Quick pic of the mini attached...

Some info about the vehicle.

1977-78 MIni Moonlight

Twin SU carbs

1275 motor 4 speed gbox

Full s/steal exhaust stystem

"Factory fitted" mechanical slide soft top sunroof (Blue in colour)

The car was originally blue (Moonlight version released in this colour).

We not sure how much of the car has been modified(NON oem)...

COMMENTS MORE THAN WELCOME... GOOD OR BAD...

Thanks

Haha, you bought it! That car belonged the Claude right?

Welcome to TMF :D

Lovely looking car, would've preferred if he'd have kept the original blue, but the yellow actually looks good as well :)

Oh and we'd love it if you would join the local mini owners club (CPTMOC).

This is a link to our FB page:

https://www.facebook...ps/cptminiclub/

And this is the link to the local (very new) forum (only started again last week):

samini.co.za

Oh and if you'd like more info on the moonlight (and other SA special minis), I'd recommend the book on the history of the South African minis by Ryno Verster:

Thanks for the Mini Memories – A South African Mini Story

Hope to see your mini on the roads and at the meets :)

Cheers,

Vinay
