Does anyone know of a company that just has the listing for the john cooper works conversion, it really is liike pulling teeth listing all the mods. Currently with lancaster who want 238 this year and to be honest i think that is a bit steep, so looking around for anyone better people can recommend ideally that already know what the S works has that is different over the standard MPI

I had mine with Adrian Flux, I gave up trying to explain what it was but made them write it onto the policy to make sure that I was covered. I was paying 170 but that was a couple of years ago now.

I feel your pain. I want to do the right thing to make sure I am covered but doing the right thing these days is a pain in the arse.

I have a non John Cooper S Works and have bounced back between HIC and Adrian Flux over the last few years. Tried to explain Mods and even for them it goes over their head and they put me on hold and make up a figure.

I would say the main thing is to get an agreed value and make sure you have evidence you have listed the mods.

My insurance is up and I'm doing the usual trawl for best price and hoping I might get a proper Classic Car policy which will be much cheaper.

Just got my renewal in from HIC and the usual "As a valued Customer we are going to take the piss and insert a large object up your bum." They want £404 hahahaha

I'll update with what I end up with. It won't be HIC

Edit : Understand there might be some new drivers who think £404 is cheap and I feel your pain even more. Outrageous prices for new drivers these days. My quote is based on me being an old fart with max no claims discount and no convictions. I was acquitted of all charges against goat worrying. O_O

bit of a resurrection here... but I'm 17 and know the pain.... I recently paid £2000 for a years insurance.... could have done it for half but they see it as an 'import' as it went to japan... and came back again haha and double the insurance or refuse to quote!
