I have this car. It has been stood (covered) in the drive for just over a year now and is SORN declared. I would say it needs a couple of hundred to get an MOT and back on the road. I am about to do that myself then sell it but if you were interested as it is you can make an offer. I took out the original low mileage engine as it needs a reverse idler repair (it was hard to get it into third gear) and put in a slightly later but identical 998. The original engine is included with the car.
I am in Hamshire, not far from Lymington. Asking £2400 as it is.

I've been working on this 1979 mini 1000 which belonged to my wifes Grandmother from new. It's now had £0000s spent. Nice part leather interior, 70's leather steering wheel, new carpets, halolgen headlight conversion with new headlight bowls. New 7.5 inch disc brakes fitted on the front with 10" 4.5J Minilites with 165/80 Yokohama A008 Tyres . New rear drums and backplates, new handbrake, new hubs and bearings all round, new front ball joints. Low mileage engine fully overhauled and cleaned - block painted. Professionally refurbished carb. New clutch, thrust bearing and primary oil seal, clutch slave cylinder and actuator. New gear selector and seal. New water pump, fan, heater valve, radiator, hoses. New tie bars, shock absorbers, fuel tank sender. New high output alternator, distributer and leads. I've even put a neat 100w x 2 amp in the boot and 6x9's under the rear so my son can plug in his iPhone.
