I'll be repainting my Clubman next year and I'm looking for some views on what everyone thinks the best BL colour is for a Clubman.  The car is totally original with no welding or paint work carried out since new.  Its a 1979,1100cc, and is painted in what I believe to be one of the worst BL colours of the 70's........ Sandglow.  I've owned the car for 20 years and throughout this period I cannot warm to the colour, it's neither yellow (ie Inca) or orange (ie blaze or vermillion) or even hearing aid beige (champagne beige) but a sort of odd mustard colour.  I owned a 1750 HL Maxi in the same colour and that seemed to suit the Maxi shape but on a mini it does nothing for me.   My other Clubman (1974) is Teal Blue with an ochre interior - I love this combination.

So any suggestions on what standard BL colour looks great on a Clubman?  My favourites are Denim or Astral Blue Metallic, Russett Brown or my top choice at the moment Reynard Metallic.

Has anyone got any other suggestions.  If you could attach some pictures of your favourite colours that would be great.

My GT will be returning to its original Astral Blue, as far as late Clubman colours it's that or black for me.
We've got an Inca GT as well, it's a marmite Colour, but with dark wheels I love it.

As far as early clubmans, it's a toss up between Glacier White, Red, Black Tulip, teal blue, and Aqua.

This is the only other car I've seen in the correct colour.

Looks like a bad colour match on the above Mini GT. It's a difficult one and I pondered over my colour but I always liked Bracken for personal reasons even though it's not a 78 (in my case) colour. I like Black and gold as it is or was very much the colour to have.

I've seen a few GT's in sandglow and always liked those with the stripes and wheels etc.

Java and Russet are popular period colours.

Probably the most difficult choice when restoring a car, good luck.

What mine with a different coloured bonnet? Or the full Astral one? It'd had damage to that front wing, otherwise it Was the most original 1275 GT I've ever seen, still had the chrome trim riveted on.
