Does anyone have or know of a list somewhere of the correct nuts and bolts are required for fixing each part to its home...eg clutch slave, dist, alt....everything really. I got the car with most engine parts loose and a pile of rusty old fixings, also some of the bolts that are in dont look original.

I was looking at some pics of engines and such and saw a few pics of engines out and fans mounted in the n/s wing, was that just in a specific model or is there one at each side of the rad? If so mine does'nt have one....

Not a list but all the bits you'd want: http://shop.aseriess...et-3000-pieces/

Many folk fit an extra fan on the wing-side of the rad but it isn't standard.

Yes, while a good many of us luv to swear and don't mind it, not everyone appreciates it.

That's why it takes me so long to post anything as swearing is part of my embedded vocabulary and it takes me quite a while to find words to express myself in a more broadly accepted manner.

It's also a public place, so keep in mind, my mum could be reading this too.

I really do wish it came with a list of what is for where.

I suppose if you bagged up and labelled everything when you stripped it down it'd be easier, but I just ripped mine apart

Back to the original topic......i find the Somerford Mini catalogues / site really useful for this. They show the correct bolts, washers and nuts to use

I'll check it out ta...still a good pack the "mini in a box" i suppose but im not after every single fixing for the car...or am I?...Shouldnt have said that, every nut, stud n bolt i try to remove will fail now.

I suppose there is always the engineers factors to get copies of what i have...

Not exactly your answer, but the largest majority of fasteners are 5/16 unf. If you were to have a good supply of those, and a small assortment of #10 to 3/8 in unf and unc, you will be able to get by on most things.

I believe some newer parts may have been metric, but in my case (building the car from a bin of new parts), that was a very small number.
