Hello everybody
1989 metro engine

I finaly have my mini back on the road
What's the most likely cause of a flat spot at the start of aceloration ? In every gear when nice and warm, I timed it as per the manual

It as pretty new ht leads and a new coil

The dashpot oil could do with being a little thinner oil ie. 10/40 but just another idea, have you checked the vacuum/advance unit on the dizzy (if you've got one) as the diaphragm could've gone? Or listen for any air leaks just in case it's sucking air in through the breather pipe or elsewhere??

I'd be looking at the base setting of the mixture at idle, 2.5-3% and then retry, if you dont have a CO Meter then use the lifting pin or a small screwdriver to lift the piston, stall and dies away = to weak, revs up and stays there = to rich, revs slightly and resettles = ok
