Does anyone else have a trend in their area where kids (around 12 yr old) are nicking these from cars?  Unfortunately (for the kids involved) I saw some at my Mini yesterday hanging around when one 'accidentally' dropped his bike on the floor and took a long time picking it up - so I went out and they instantly started riding off, quck look at the car and they had taken the alloy dust caps and chrome valve sleeves off the nearside wheels - they obviously didnt expect a 50 yr old to be able to sprint after them while shouting (some rather choice words that cant be repeated) in a loud (p**d off) Dundonian accent that I would hunt them down   .  They saw I was catching them (somehow) so they stopped and started apologising and handed the items over - I sent them off with some more 'choice' advice.  I then trudged home - completely blowing out of my ar** as we used to say in the Army - in other words knackered!

It seems while talking to some neighbours - they had theirs taken too - some just ordinary, but some custom dice ones etc too.

Maybe its just Gloucester??

There's quite a high number of house holds with guns where I live and no thefts, do the math!

I'm sure it happens everywhere. Personally I think the metal valve caps look ridiculous anyway - change to the standard plastic ones and they will never get stolen again!

Nope doesn't happen here.... I'm guessing they put them on their bikes?

I've had mine stolen so many times :(
One time they even broke my valve & let all the air out !

& On my daily ford I bought a set of second hand St wheels, they came with those locking valve caps that just spin
I'm praying they can get these off because
I can't !! Pmsl

I treated my old mini to some pool ball ones and they only lasted a few days parked outside the girlfriends with little kids always playing around outside >_<

This is why I just have the black plastic ones plus IMO they look much tidier

If this is the plot line for the next Taken film with Liam Neeson, it could end up a bit disappointing, although to be fair it felt like they had run out of ideas with the last one   :D

I caught two young lads trying to take the metal caps off my BMW. You could see the finger marks in the brake dust. I managed to stop the round the corner and they handed them over, with their black stained fingers.
I'm sure the kids take them into school as some sort of bargaining currency or something

Never had fancy valve caps and left a car on a drive/side of the road, it's asking for them to be pinched. I have plastic valve caps to keep it simple.

I'd use some anti-climb paint and paint the valves!
