They can be a useful gauge, certainly a must with higher powered engines as a drop in fuel pressure can result in a high speed lean out and an expensive rebuild. I haven't seen it happen on a Mini, but I have seen it happen on 2 other competition engines, ruined the pistons in both of them.

But yes they seem to show that they are both needed to work together.

I won't be paying that. Just put these up as an example. Yes, with a Tee and I'd suggest fitting it as close to the carb as you can get it.
