They're one of the last ones fitted with a carb aren't they? Might be a HIF38. Stick a pic up, might help the more knowledgeable people on the forum identify it.

It's right at the change point, if you're sure it's not injection it will be an HIF38 unless it's been changed. '44s were for Coopers.

it'll be a hif38 (1 1/2") - all pre injection non-coopers had them
