can some one help, ive searched high and low, there are millions of guides how to reassemble gearboxes, but i cant find a guide on the best way to pull this thing apart. can anyone help.

Haynes manual (and older one as the newer ones dont cover gearbox).

great ill try and get an older manual, i have a newish one, it doesnt as you say cover the gearbox, or not in depth anyway

Just go at it. Obviously you'll need the right tools, but it's fairly simple once you get down to it. The hardest part will be drifting the bearings out.
