My question is will an a series block fit onto a a+ gearbox without to much trouble.
If I was to run into problems what would it be?
Thanks

as above yes. The late 70s early 80s minis came like this from the factory.

Usually they go together OK as the other guys have said, though I've had a few when fitting an A 1275 to an A+ Gearcase, the back Main Bearing Bolt Heads touches the case and won't let them come quite together. A few minutes with a file on the Gearcase and problem gone. I haven;'t checked, but it appears on the A+ engines, the spot facings on the main Bearing Caps were slightly closer to the block.

Had this problem after I did the calver mod on my crank bearing caps ( basicly usign a big moly washer to prevent the bolt 'eating' in the cap).
My advice: don't use a dremel or dont be too enthousiastic unless you want a hole in your casing ![]()
YEs, I'm stupid ![]()
