Yoppitee yop yop

some minis have textile seats and door cards

can you colour them or dye them a different colour

anyone tried this

anyone got any tips or threads about that

an alternative would be seat covers I guess

I have seen the guys on Wealer Dealers spray painting the rear tray to good effect

I would be very interested to hear from any member who has some ideas and advice

AKA Bodgit and Scarper ...

Um. I'd takes some of their suggestions with a large pinch of salt ... but you can only try .. I'd try on a spare/broken one first though!

Vinyl paints well, with vinyl paint. Dyeing the synthetic fibres in seat covers will be a lot harder. The process might trash other materials in the covers. You could hunt the scrappers for some bigger rear (less wear) seats to scalp some fabric from. I’d be time consuming unpicking, cutting and sewing in replacement panels, but easier than you might imagine.

Personally I wouldn't bother but there are products out there such as:

I can't vouch for how effective this product is but give it a go on an inconspicuous area first. Good Luck!

I sprayed my vinyl ones,

finish looked good but always seemed 'tacky' to the touch, even though it was dry it never felt it.

its worth spending the bit extra to get them covered.

or swap with someone?

Umm that fabric paint / dye (spelt correctly by me this time, sorry for title) looks interesting but

colour choice is a bit limited

I guess I could try some dye on an out of the way patch and see if I like the results

thanks for your suggestions

Says its water absorbing fabric, it's unlikely it's suitable for your seat covers. There are dyes for polyester & nylon but they need boiling for a fair old time.
