Has anyone come across any problems when fitting the magnum wheel tubs. I will be replacing these along with a new heritage boot floor, looking at the shell earlier I think that eventually I will need most other panels from the catalogue.! .

I've already got one new Magnum tub which I've had for some time so thought it might be wise to check before buying another one to see if they fit well enough. Thanks Neil

I suppose the thing to do is offer the panels up and if there's big issues that cant be sorted easily, go for heritage.

I have seen the Magnum inner arches and I would steer clear. Certainly not the best. Oh and for door steps for MK3 onwards Heritage only. Magnum suck.

Ok thanks magnum steps in the bin then
You'll save yourself loads of hassle. The curve for the bottom of the leading edge of the door is all wrong.

Just to give you a bit of an insight into how bad there are this is my lads car i tried to fit one to
Lh side
I got it to look like this but in the end i binned it off altogether and made my own from scratch. It was a big learning lesson with Erm and never ever again will i use a pattern step unless somebody can prove to me they will fit.

I fitted two magnum rear tubs. As has been mentioned above the curve into the rear floor (Where the dampers sit) needed some modification with a hammer to meet up with the floor. Oddly this was only true on the passenger side. The rest seemed to fit ok for me so was no big deal really.

Over the years we've found there to be three tiers of panels and all correlate to price:
Magnum - cheapest but almost always very poorly shaped and unlikely to fit without significant fettling.
MMachine - average price, good quality panel but shape can sometimes be a bit off on more complex panels.
Heritage - highest price but nearly always a good fit on all panel shapes and sizes.
So you pick your price point. Personally I wouldn't bother with anything other than Heritage panels, my time is worth more than the price differences.
