thinking about this in particular

Kenwood KSC-SW11 150W Underseat Active Subwoofer with Passive Radiator

not looking for earth shattering base or hifi quality, just like a little more punch to what I have already, which is 2 6x9s under the rear seat. Top and mid are OK but bass is poor and yes the phase is correct.

don't want anything in or under the dash and prefer a simple installation

thanks in advance

Not tried one in a mini, but really chuffed with my Pioneer TSWX120A in my MR2 Roadster

It's tucked under my dashboard, really has allowed me to take the bass off the component speakers in the door which has improved their power-handling and sound.

Well I've bought then kenwood unit. Gets excellent reviews so that combined with mini mads comment above made the decision for me. £100 delivered. Can't be bad

Please report back on what you think of the SW11 as I am thinking of getting one of these too!

well it arrived early this morning and i put it in this afternoon - perfect.

easy enough to install under passenger seat, made a couple of extra brackets as I didn't fancy drilling the floor.

wiring is a bit fiddly as always but pulled power from spare ignition fed fuse

sound is excellent exactly as i wanted , more bass but not stupid. I'm an old rock music fan and it's perfect for stuff like the Who, Eagles, Led Zep. Loud enough for my old ears and clear enough with no distortion.

All in All - highly recommended.

I'll bung a pic on if anyone want one

I took a couple of hours out of my "busy" schedule, to make the most of yesterday's sun. So two hours, top down (mr2, remember...) and even at 70(ish) it sounded great.

Same as you, lots of classic rock and metal, really good. I have a whole new system in, so still shifting gains and EQ, but just excellent.

Maybe not for you dance music fans, although even then better than 6x9s!

Awesome. Thanks for posting up what you think I'll definitely consider it when I go to buy a subwoofer.

I fitted one in my other car last year (it suffers even more than a mini in terms of getting low frequency response - largely due to a lack of volume behind the bulkhead and also its bloody noisy with engine noise and wind). This Sub more than makes up for the acoustic shortfalls. I'm about to install one in the mini with a pair of rear shelf mounted 6x9's, I've already trial run the system (with nothing bolted down) and its much better than the existing pioneer "cracklemaster" set up which was inherited with the car.
