I just want some sympathy please, spent a couple of days swapping engines, just got the new one in that i got from a scrappers(yea its all in working order mate!) i thought ok £110 for a 53,000 mile 1275 not too bad, and now it apears the clutch is seized. Also before i put it in it all turned over freely, now i can't get it to move at all, had a good shake around in 1st gear and it just won't budge i'm just going to rip the engine steady off in a minute!!!!!!!!!! Ahh i'm so fully stressed, tryin so hard to resist hitting it with a big hammer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:'( >:w00t: :'( >:w00t: :(

Dont hit it it will only come off bette and you will be left with a hammer embedded in your head! Some scrappies are willing to say anything to get rid of stuff.

If it turned over by hand before you put it in, surely it should still do that?

Yeah I was going to suggest that but then I read that he'd fixed it. It you put screws that are too long into the clutch housing anywhere (engine mount, slave cylinder, breather etc) then they'll jam against the flywheel.

Errrr, I did it, twice!!

Fitted it, found it locked so I removed it. Found it turned, put it back in and tried again.

Went to remove it again, and noticed it moved once the bolts where loose, felt like a right 'nana'.

Still, you live and learn, lol.
