Roller Rockers For 998

As its a 998, and not yet in a high state of tune (yet!!!) there consensus seems to be 1.3 rockers are ample, but they seem like an awefully large expense. The ones I've found so far are the best part of £600, and considering a large part of their benefit seems to be just to reduce wear on the valve guides, I can't see that as a justifiable expense.
Is there a cheaper option?

There also seem to be mixed opinions on quality, though the negative comments aren't at all recent.
Thoughts?

I have to say, if you're on a budget, I'd find it a bit hard to justify going to rollers. Cheap ones are just that.
We use the Minisport 1.5 rockers with double springs in SPi with no complaints at all after around 5 years. So, why not?
Bhahaha,,,, yours must be 'duds' if they haven't broken yet
I lost track of how many ended up like that before swapping to MED ones and not an issue since.

I'm not on a really tight budget, but £50 just got me valve guides (on top of other machining) and £500+ for roller rockers, the maths kind of doesn't work.
