Can anyone please tell me what width of tyre fits these rims?

I've had a search on here and on a few websites and find quite a bit of conflicting information.

Cheers Neil

175/50 x 13 tyres.

You see that's what I thought. But the tyres on the car now are 175. Either 175s fit a 6" rim or I've wrongly assumed that the wheels on the car at the moment are 6" and are in fact 7"

Thanks anyway

175s will fit a 7" rim fine. It's a linear fit.

I assume the car in you display pic is your car? if so, then yes the wheels on it at the moment are 13x6. fear not though, as 175 tyres will easily fit both 6" and 7" wide wheels ;D

So the tyres are not to fit your current wheels?

What wheels have your ordered? What ET? As the ones in the pic look more like 6s. 7s may bring new issues.

13"x7" ultra light, offset-7. The arches may need a little fettling.

Common fit for a mini. Your biggest issue might be the front arches. Before driving the car with the new wheels on, give it full left and right lock and have a look around each arch to see if they are getting close, remembering that with suspension travel they will get a little closer.

i had 13x7 ultralites with -7 offset on my car for a while. 175 tyres are definitely the ones you want. and the arches will almost certainly need a trim. i had to take quite a lot off mine (although my car was very low), but the sportspack arches should suit the wheels nicely once theyre on

Thanks for the input guys, wheels fit fine.

Need to raise the front a tad but happy with the look.

Strictly speaking 7inch wide wheels need a minimum of 195 width tyres, but its seems that no one produces them any more. I have been searching for some for a few weeks now.

Since everyone seems to fit the 175 width tyres to their 7j or even 8j rims, I would assume it is safe to fit them to a 7j rim although not technically correct.

It is my theory that most of the handling complaints about 13inch wheels are due to this discrepancy which is why I am trying so hard to find some 195 width tyres for mine.

If that fails I think I will purchase some 13x6 inch wheels to try and compare them to my current set up.

I am constantly comparing to comfort level back to my 10inch wheels, but cannot live with the poor traction that they provide which is why I am seeking a better fit on the 13's.

195's, if anything, would exacerbate tram lining. It's the physical footprint of the tyre that causes the issue, not the wheel.
