Hi Everyone,

Brand new to this site, and wanted to start my first topic with more of a comfort issue that my passengers are currently having.

I have a Lowback vinyl for both my driver and passenger seat. My driver's seat is nice and comfy, my hips fit rather well. But the passenger side, as per many complaints, is particularly small and mega tight on the hips at the very bottom back of the seat. At first glance, the two look the same, but one is very noticeably wider when sitting.

Is there a way my driver seat has been widened, or is it simply a case of being a wider purchased seat? If the former, is there a way that my passenger side seat can be widened at all, without needing to purchase a wider model? How might I go about this?

Any help would be appreciated :)

look like two similar but different models of seat.

so yes they would have different fits.

and i would not go about widening one.

Although we they probably shouldn't.....

I have seen people widen the front of the frame with a bottle jack, some wooden blocks and some rags. Bottle jack in the middle of the seat. two blocks of wood wither side wrapped in rag to protect the vinyl, pump the jack up and widen the frame.

Should it be done, probably not. Does it work, did in this instance.

Appreciate the quick response guys. Though I like the idea of the jack and blocks, the snugness might be too close to the bum of the seat, as opposed to the knee end, if that makes sense. Can alway try widening the end, and see if it makes a difference to the bum / hip area.
