Hi guys

I have a 998cc 1987 Austin Mini Mayfair and my battery's died, need a new one pronto. Whats the best battery to buy? Want to go to a garage with a specific battery in mind, with a price too, so I don't get ripped off.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Battery which drops in without mods and plenty of reserve amperage is a 075, which is a Peugeot Diesel battery and has no issues with starting even high compression A series engines, around £60 trade if you can get it and a brand I use is Varta

Bosch batteries have a good rep but cheapest brand on there is less than 40 quid.

EBay item 252046951615

Varta heavy duty 075 battery, 60 ah/amp, 4 year warranty. £42 with next day delivery. Absolute bargain.

I am having a Bosch S5 12 V 61 Ah with  a generator with 70 Ah since 4 years. No problems, works as on the first day.

075 is the battery type and comes in a variety of amp/hr ratings, etc.

Also check on their carparts4less.co.uk web site ... internet only and some more permanent savings.

I don't think the TMF+ discount code works anymore ... saveme75 might ... :-)
