hello,

Im new here so please be kind, I have owned a 1993 Rover Mini mayfair as a weekend project car since 2010 and have come to a stage where I now want something else ( a Mk1 with the intention of converting it to a period rally car). my question is, would the value of the project be more if i sold it as a whole or stripped it and sold it as bits ? its very nearly finished and has a few nice parts that are valuable but I'm sure as some of you know its getting the small laborious boring jobs that makes you lose interest. hope somebody can help. thank you

It probably depends on how much someone else has to do and on what youve done to it.
Let us know as always intrested in increasing my collection much to my other halfs disapproval

They'll always be worth more with an MOT

Plus if you part it out you'll be left with all the little parts no one wants

yes well i have owned a mk1 before hand, a morris mini with the reg UHN 66F if anyone sees it ... i would like it back :) but i bought it as a project when i was 16 with the intention of turning it into my daily and a weekend track car. so it does have some parts i think i could sell easliy such as the roll cage and 13" revolution deep dish wheels with new yokos on. my only worry is i bought the car as a CAT D so i have no history at all and for that reason I'm unsure on how to sell it. thanks for replying so quickly though guys

Cat D isnt a major thing as it wasnt majorly damaged cat C is worse the lack of history has nothing to do with that just the previous owners crappy documentation

yes well when i got it i replaced the front subframe and welded a full front on including inner and outer wings, like most minis the sills had gone as well so i replaced those. I have also had it resprayed since then so overall its a nice shell but its come to the point that I'm bored of it and want something else, so would you recommend I try and sell it as a project or could i sell the parts that are worth money then sell the shell with all the bits nobody wants ?

Why not get some pictures and details up and try it in the for sale section here.

Take pictures of the key areas and work you have had done. Be a shame to let another mini go to pasture without even trying.
