How does the arm from the door lock connect to the locking mechanism screwed in to the side of the door? I don't remember how it came apart many months ago when I stripped it all down.

 

There's a piece of metal that sticks out from the bottom of the lock, you can see it in the picture http://www.minispare...|Back to search

 

I presume it connects to the piece of metal but I don't see how.

If you have a look at the exploded diagram on the link you have posted you will see a clip, number 35, the lever from the door handle connects to the locking catch with the clip. The door look lever and door release lever connect using circlips.

Right - got that - BUT what does it attach to?

If you have a look at the picture of the locking mechanism in your link you will ess a silver/grey round gar with a short end sticking up, the clip 35 is attached to the lever from the door handle and the round bar attaches to the clip
