Hello everybody.
My name is Darron. I'm obviously new to this site, and haven't had chance to sift through all the posts/subjects.etc.etc.
My history in minis is a 1976 850 mini as a first car when i passed my test.My dad hand painted it british racing green, which to say the least, didn't look brilliant but it got me on the road!! My second mini was a 1275gt clubman which really set the love for minis, but that came to an unfortunate end when a pick up rammed me from behind which wrote the car off. This was all about 15-20 years ago.Since then I have found the love for Pick ups and at present nothing else will do.
I have been looking in the usual places for a pick up(ebay etc) but i'm finding it hard to find the right one.My plan is to restore one from the start, but even almost scrappers are fetching daft money.I have thought about buying a brand new shell and starting from scratch....could anyone tell me where I could purchase one from???
If I got a new shell would it be allowed to get a donor saloon and transfer parts onto the pick up to enable to get it registered.
I have only a small budget at the moment, so this means that it's going to be a long long term project, which suits me fine.
I hope that posting this on here will generate some answers to my questions and hopefully, somebody will be able to put me in contact with a restoration project or two
I look forward to hearing from you all
