Abit of a long shot, but here it goes does anyone know of anyone that may have an old mini se7en race car that has or hasn't been raced since the mid to late 90's/early 2000s that may be about either in storage or a garage somewhere and may be willing to sell?

Thanks Josh

Out of curiosity what are you planning to do with it? Racing it, may require some substantial updating.

yeah racing is the plan! Probably will need updating with the cage and other safety equipment etc, also the engine will have to be looked at and the shell and bodywork may need a touch up!

As far as I'm aware the regs haven't changed dramatically from that period

Its more me trying to find a sound shell that I don't need to do alot of fab work like cutting out boot floor, parcel shelf, some of the back seat, doing the air box and anti roll bar

I know what you are saying, as it is something I am actively looking at doing too.

Try joining the Mini7 Facebook page, they occasionally have ones posted up there.

Additionally there is the forum on their own website, although I believe you have to pay £25 to join.

If you buy a car that requires a newer cage and updated suspension and engine etc, You might as well just buy a shell and do it that way. The Fabrication work is only a few days that can be added in if you go to someone like Endaf for the cage.

Yeah I suppose you're right when you put it like that!

I'm tied between buying a shell just after new year or in august time and building for 2017 or hoping someone is selling at the end of next season

I think the chances of anyone selling one 'cheap' are pretty slim now, I would say the market value is around 15k for a half decent car that is running and probably up to 20k for a good new car, which is probably less than it costs to build new.

I built mine yeh, did pretty much everything myself.. using a lot of discounts and deals from working in the trade and a second hand engine it probably cost me 18k ish, but bare in mind I have another 5k or so to invest over the winter to get the car to the spec I want. Its not cheap building them from scratch but its not really cheap buying and converting either. S class would maybe be the way to go to save money

Josh, did you know your old man was the first to drive a S class se7en? We did a test for the Se7en Club to assess the viability.
In (I think) 2004 I took a Mighty Mini engine out of one of my customers cars, we put it in your dads car with the se7en carb and plumbing, tweeked it on Dicks rolling road and ran it at Silverstone.
Car was mid field competitive with biggest problem being the large gap between 3rd and 4th gear.
Got some pics of car somewhere, it was light blue with Hackys Car Medic sponsorship.
Best of luck in finding a car. Se7ens are on the up again, heard of lots of new cars out for next season.

Ohh right I didn't know that oz!
It must have been 2006 I think because that's when he was running the blue car!
And thanks that's going to be a lot of cars about next year by the sounds, as you say on the up again!

ive just built a s class for my mate by buying a hillclimb car for 5.5 k sold all the fancy brakes big 1380 ally shocks and wheels,

and that's payed for a the engine to be build to spec and and we just converted all the brakes to suit, cost around 7-9k fully repainted, plus his spares package was 1k plus tyres

to do a fresh shell is very costly as I've just reshelled my miglia,  7kplus  for a bare shell,

800-1000 for a mint shell.

5k for cage and body mods and few billet parts and subframe work

700 for carbon parts ( front end bonnet arches boot floor boot door cards etc)

1k panit work
