I fitted 4" FLi speakers in mine recently..

You will need to block the fresh air vent with something (I used a plastic bag and some tie wraps)

I mounted the speaker itself behind the hole, with the speaker grille mounted in front of the hole...

They sound perfectly fine to me if a bit lacking in bass, but for a 4" speaker you can't expecting earth shaking bass from them anyway...

Im happy with the sound produced by them, and I can be a picky b###### when it comes to speaker positioning and sound reproduction in a car...

3" or 4" will fit without any problems.
