Hallo allo

my wheel cylinders are TOTALLY seized, pistons cannot even be removed so I am having to replace them

the marking on the casing is 99023C and as there seem to be a fat lot of different models I don't want to order the wrong 'uns

is there a TMF member who knows the correct part number for this item and or it's replacement / updated part - a big thanks if you can 'elp

cheers

That's probably a cast number so not really enough information. As above year and type of car will help as there are a number of different bore cylinders available.

Mini is Jap spec 1993 spi 1.3injection (injection model with coil)

and on my local factors web site they only have 19mm 3/4 inch bore cylinders available

sorry to be noobie but the 'bore' refers to piston size ? as the od of the brake line fitting on the casing is exactly 17.5mm 11/16

what the piston bore is I cannot measure as they are totally seized in

thanks for your help

This link may help:

http://www.somerford...page=page&id=60

It looks as if all later models, including yours, were 3/4" bore. Presumably you have the PRV (pressure regulating valve) under the bonnet? The cast iron thing, mounted below the master cylinder on the bulkhead, where the brake lines go, before heading towards the front and rear brakes.

If not, 3/4" would be incorrect.

And yes, the 3/4" bore size is, for practical purposes, the same as piston diameter. (There is a very small clearance to allow movement, probably no more than 0.001").

Ugh

piston bore is 19mm so 3/4 measured the bit that sticks out with the slot in it (rear wheel cylinder by the way) so I guess they are standard

will pick up a pair asap

thanks for helping
