hey all,

It's been a while since I posted but recently (maybe a bit crazily) added 2 Minis to my collection (now up to 3) I bought a Mk1 Morris Cooper and a mk7 S Works.

Anyways.... I'm putting lots of issues right with the MPI. Latest thing is the headlights seem badly adjusted.

Anyway I took the ring off and had a look, the fixing screws have all rusted and snapped and the adjusters don't seem to grip into the bowl (if that makes sense). What I feel like I need is an mpi/mk7 version of  this:

Does anyone have any ideas? I've searched and searched but not come up with anything!

The bowl for mpi's is:XBC105240 but is always out of stock and then you have to source all the other bits. I found that on mine all of the screws had rusted and ruined the motors so I would recommend getting new complete units (XBC105220 x2) and keep the old ones for spares.

Thanks Macgyver, sounds like I'll just have to suck it up and buy whole new lights!

Actually looks like this place has them, but it doesn't mention about the fixing screws? Are they included usually with that part number?

Unless someone has an idea where to find just the bowls but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle unless budget is really, really tight. It is also safer to have new units and no bad surprises like I did once and end up getting them anyway and like I said you'll have spares so you can always sell or exchange if need be or to fix yours in the future.

Cool! Ordered up some replacement lights. I think one motor isn't working either but I'll investigate that a little bit more.

luckily for me it was just the screws that had worn/rusted, so I just got a set of Lucas replacements off eBay. The motors are wired with very thin cable, and my passenger side negative has snapped off at the earthing block behind the expansion tank. I'll need to patch it up as that side is pointing up too high...
