Hi

Have any Mini owners a Wingard washer bottle fitted to their car with the wording 'WINGARD MADE IN ENGLAND' on the bottle face in light blue letters, as the attached photo?

This type of bottle with the wording on it is fitted to my 69 MK2 car but I cannot find a photo or another Mini having the same bottle fitted, which leads me to think that it isn't an original fitting for Minis of the MK1-2 era.

Can anyone comment on this subject?

Probably a replacement bottle from many moons ago. Never seen an original car with one with that text on.

I seem to recall there being after market kits (maybe to swap to an electric pump) had similar.

Seems both Tudor and Wingard were suppliers, I have a similar Wingard setup in mine. The manual pumps were Wingard branded

Thanks for your comments.

I have owned the car since 1983 and this Wingard bottle was on the car then in the same condition as it is now so I can't see it having been replaced during the period from being new in 1969 to 1983 as it really looks as old as the car, also the original Wingard green tubing and manual pump are still on the car, again these don't look as they have ever been changed from original.

It's looking like this washer bottle with the lettering on it could be quite a rare motoring item but there must be some information out there relating to which cars this type of named bottle was fitted to.

John
