trying to find opinions on current pads available for 7.5 inch 2 pot disc brakes. ( Race class must run Cooper S pre 66 brakes)

i had Mintex compound 1155 and found them good to better than good -

i am now running the carbon metallic Minispares       c -8g8995  and these are similar - i lost the ability to do back to back tests when needed to replace rotors as well - so new pads and new rotors  but possibly slightly better cold.

Mintex 1144 was previously tried by colleagues and sometimes suffered from fade towards end of stints

Mr Calver in his website and  on mini mania refer to the C 8G8995 as by Performance industries.

In another site just recently i spotted sales@ uk.performance.friction saying part number 7220 was available for Cooper S - track day/race  - using  Race compound 11 - go to their site for info - so is this the one and the same pad  ( ie does aqyone know if Performance industries mentioned in mini mania is Performance friction and then Part c 8G8995  is the same as part 7220?????  or is this performance friction pad a different beastie -  if so i will follow up

anyway trackday 2 pot 7.5 inch brethren please feel to give me your recommendations/ ideas  Cheers

I've used the Mini Spares supplied Performance Industries carbon metallic pads and never suffered any fade whilst howling up and down the Alps and other mountain ranges.

The only drawback, which is very minor, is a tendency to squeak for a while after they have been very hot which can attract attention in slow traffic through villages and towns.

The C-M pads as sold by Mini Spares are about the best possible. I've used them for rallying on long tarmac stages and with AP600 fluid (or its current equivalent) there is no fade and the coeff. of friction seems excellent from low temperature. I have never suffered any fade and no big increase in brake pedal pressure even when the discs are literally glowing a dull red hot.
