Hello Guys,

I have done a search but can not find what I am looking for.

Have a bit of an issue finding some of the correct 195 width tyres to go with a set of 13x7 inch wheels that I have got.

What I would like to know is if there are any 195/45/13 tyres available for these wheels, or is everyone just running stretched 175 width tyres on their 13x7's?

I would also like to hear from anyone who has used both 13x6 and 13x7 inch wheels with the 175 tyres to know if you have noticed any difference in ride quality or handling?

Obviously with the 175 tyre stretched onto the 7inch rim the sidewall is going to be compromised and therefore much stiffer and reducing ride comfort and maybe grip?

Many Thanks.

Hudd Mini spares have a small number of 195's - my 13's use these and they're great, just they havent been made for nearly ten years.

(so becareful on the rubber use by date)

175's arent at all stretched on a 7" rim - you've not seen what they're like on an 8" rim aha!

All of those tyres look like they are trailer tyres and really not what I am after but thank you anyway.

I have already spoken to Huddersfield about the sp9000's and the stock has now all gone.

According to all of the guides a 6inch rim is maximum for a 175 tyre. 7inch rims needs 195 minimum, 205 ideal, but also not available.

My current 13x7 wheels with 175 tyres 'run fine' too, if a little uncomfortable, the issue is have is putting near 200bhp onto the floor and getting traction. There is a lot to be said for using the correct tyres for the wheels when it comes to handling. I find it hard to believe that all these companies are making wheels for which there are no longer any proper sized tyres?

I was about to alter my post to say exactly that .. there is one 195/60 profile .. nankang ... https://www.tyrelead...s-195-60-13-83/

I've got a set of 6x13" with 165s and for me they are far too narrow and looking stretched. Putting 175s on 7" rims would be a no-no for me too.

For 6" rims I'd prefer to fit 185 wide tyres. Lots in 60 profile from tyreleaders ... they might just be OK for the 7" rims but starting to stretch.

They wouldn't even fit onto the car either.

I have 2 sets of wheels that I run on my Mini 40, standard 6 x 13 Sportspack and 7 x 13 Superlites both with 175/50 R13 tyres and from a driving point of view I can't notice any difference between the two, I just change them back and forth when I fancy a change.

The only tyres that comfortably fit onto the 7" wide wheels are racing tyres, but they are not road legal. You can, at a push, stretch the 175/50 tyre onto a 7" rim, but it is at its width limit.

A wider tyre, even if available, would 'over-tyre' a light car like a Mini and both the road-holding and handling will be compromised, especially in the wet.

In fact, in the wet, a classic Mini handles best on a 145 section width tyre, with a 165 being best in the dry.

I have to say the 175/50 R13 tyres don't look stretched on the 7 x 13's.
