What steps should I go about to make these look nice and new again? What grit sand paper? wet sand? Then of course aluminium polish. I sprayed them with some paint stripper so most of the bad oxidation is off but there is still some you can feel with your hand. no pitting though.

Oh heeeeeeeeeeeey! I'm actually doing this on a set of split rims and a set of my own Cobra Superslots.
A more detailed how to is as follows:
- Wire wool any corrosion away
- Wet sand with 240 until whole surface is uniform
- Wet sand with 400 until whole surface is uniform and no 240 grit marks remain
- Wet sand with 600 until whole surface is uniform and no 400 grit marks remain
- Wet sand with 800 until whole surface is uniform and no 600 grit marks remain
- Wet sand with 1200 until whole surface is uniform and no 800 grit marks remain
- Wet sand with 1500 until whole surface is uniform and no 1200 grit marks remain
- Wet sand with 2000 until whole surface is uniform and no 1500 grit marks remain
- Wet sand with 3000 until whole surface is uniform and no 2000 grit marks remain
- Course sisal on a drill with red polishing wax/block, polish all surfaces until shiny
- Polishing sisal on a drill with red polishing wax/block, polish all surfaces until shinier
-
Polishing sisal on a drill with blue polishing wax/block, polish all surfaces until shinier
-
Buff sisal on a drill with blue polishing wax/block, polish all surfaces until shinier
-
Hand polish with a soft microfibre cloth and Mothers fine metal polish
Then you have fully polished wheels!
Total pain to do, looks great though!
Oh and remove that valve first! It will get destroyed by the drill and damage the sisals.
Mods: I am planning on doing a full how to with pics for this process in time. :)
