Hi everyone

My dilemma is that I have to purchase a new rear subby for my son's mini.

Should I go for genuine or pattern.

I know it has been said that the pattern ones dont quite fit properly, is this minor? or has anyone had real nightmares with this?

Thanks for the help

David

Genuine all the way!

I got a pattern when i was short of cash and needed to get it through the MOT. It fitted o.k. but the bracket that connects radius arm to the frame was not welded togeather correctly so needed modding before I stuck it back on. Now the wheel has a different camber setting to the opposite side. Go Genuie every time from now on!!!

yea i have fitted a pattern rear subframe in the past (in fact 2) and although i had to do some 'pursuading' to get it on , it wasnt that hard and seems to be doing the job. and has done so for the last 5 years :D i think next time i would spend the money on a genuine one.

Rubbish! Heritage frames are a lot better made than any pattern one I've ever seen. The fact they actually fit the car and you can fit the radius arm brackets makes it worth the extra cost!

Surely if you buy a non-genuine one and it doesnt fit you send/take it back and get your money back (not fit for purpose) and then spend the extra on a genuine one ..... ?

The one I got has a heritage sticker on it and also has the radius arm brackets complete with new bolts.
