I am trying to find pics of minis painted in this late 60s BMC colour called "ice blue metallic". You can find it here http://www.uniquecar...ch_BMC_1969.php

I don't think, from memory, any minis were painted using metallic paint until around 1977, again from memory the first metallics were Reynard (copper), denim blue and maybe a silver, I stand to be corrected by someone with more knowledge.

There were Healey 3000's painted a similar colour as part of a 2 tone body colour. I did see Mini's painted with that colour but they were resprays. If memory is correct. I worked in BMC and Special Tuning parts around the late 60's and don't remember this or any metallics being available for the Mini.

I am trying to find a mid blue for a respay. Any suggestions? Not navy blue or lite blue. Something between.

Pageant blue or the original tahiti blue from the 70s could suit your needs if you don't want metallic.

Thanks folks. I think I prefer Tahiti or even speedwell blue over the pageant.
