I wouldn't advise it - they will work harden and eventually the ears will snap off.  You might not be the first to reuse them!

At £1 a piece they're not worth the worry.

Honestly i wouldnt use them at all

I'd just use quality bolts without those soft tabs

As above I wouldn't use a lock tab at all. If they are soft and of poor quality then some of the clamping force is reduced which could be a problem. Just use decent bolts (and I don't necessarily mean pricey ARP ones) correctly torqued up.

In line with the other guys, I haven't used any lock-tabs, not just Big End one, none of them, for many years, the new ones are too soft and ooze out over time.

The Mains and Big Ends I Oil the Fasteners on the Threads and under the heads, then only torque up to the relevant figures. Of course, the Spot Facings have to be good too, otherwise the fasteners will loose stretch and come loose.

The Camshaft Nut, Harmonic Damper, Flywheel, Pinion Nut, Pinion Bearing Carrie Bolts and First Motion Shaft Nut I use Loctite on.

Not on big end neither on mains

Essential on other fasteners ie anything clutch related

The only thing you should be using on mains and big end bolts/threads is moly lube. You'll get a more accurate torque measurement when tightening.

You can for sure, but IMO on street use cars, Mains and Big Ends, I wouldn't bother.
