Hi, I have just installed a new front to rear brake line on my '95 Cooper spi. I detached the master cylinder from the servo to get better access to the pressure valve union below. After refitting everything and doing a final check I noticed a rubber washer at the bottom of the engine bay. I tried to retrieve it fell out of sight.

I'm concerned that the washer may have detached from the master cylinder. I know there is an O ring seal on the master but the rubber washer I saw was flat and about 1.5 cm across.

Please could anyone advise me on what to look for to check that the O ring seal on the master cylinder is in place? sounds a daft question but is it obvious to check, or is it recessed? I just need reassurance that the washer I saw hadn't fallen out of the master cylinder / servo.

Many thanks

O ring for the master cylinder is around 40mm in diameter.

Thanks Steve pretty sure I was looking at a rogue washer. No idea where it came from though...
