Just to share some info on helicoil drain thread. Simple, striped thread while changing oil last month and got it fixed.
Steps
1. Drain oil into a CLEAN container, will be re-use.
2.Remove tie rod bush bolt, slip tie rod side way and drop the anti roll bar.
3.Drill out striped sump hole using 16.5mm drill bit.
4.Tap threads.(grease drill bit and tap to pick up swarf as much as possible).
5. Clean up the taped hole.
6.Pour a liter of old oil into the engine to try to flush out the remaining swarf.
7.Insert helicoil, break the tang.
8.Put back drain plug hand tighten, pour remaining old oil into engine and remove drain plug to flush engine again.
9.Put back washer and drain plug, tighten to 34NM.
10.Put back tie rod and anti roll bar, done
I use a string to wrap the tang on helicoil, just to pull it back out after breaking. Please see pictures for more info.
