Hi all,

Anyone got any info/pictures on suzuki engine transpants?

I'm looking at doing an old swift transplant and wondered what body mods will have to be done.

Obviously the subframe will need chopping. can i stick with standard suspension arms once I've had drive shafts made?

Also do they fit inside a standard length nose and is gear linkage an issue?

Answers on a post card.

Thanks in advance.

Dominic

There is an engine conversion section on this forum, and check out 16vmini.com

I think the micra conversion is taking over from the suzuki, lots more donors available

There is method to my madness on the Suzuki front.

Yes I can't believe just how many micra builds are popping up now!

I had to cut a piece out of the bulkhead on my GT to fit the inlet manifold but on my estate I did not as I shortened the manifold by 28mm,this also made fitting the master cylinders a lot easier as I had to use a obp internal pedal box on the GT but on the estate it was all standard..I also had to cut the inner wings from the top of the subframe tower down to the front frame mount to get my subframe to fit but I am running standard Mini suspension in both. You will also need to cut a hole in the inner wing to fit the alternator which is mounted up under the wing.

Gear linkage is very easy to sort as it is the same as a Mini.one selector rod and one stabiliser rod.I used the Swift gear lever and just shortened them,it was one of the easier parts of the swap.I also used a Mini clutch slave cylinder to operate the clutch as the cable puts a lot of strain on the bulkhead.

Thanks for that info java gt. I'll bear the bulkhead in mind. I'll be maybe going down the flip front route or similar so will probably loose the inner wings. This is not a set in stone idea yet as mentioned before finding a doner will be hard. And it's not any old Suzuki I'm after.
