Hi guys! Sorry for my english.

I am having a problem. My mini does a very huge oil gas only when it starts up and when I wait some time in a traffic light. It does consume quite a lot but I don´t know what maybe the problem. When it runs during a period I don´t see any gas in the mirror.

Can you help me?

Thanks a lot

Agustin

If it is white smoke first start of the day in cold weather this is usually just water(steam)!

Sorry for the short reply, I'm still learning too!

It could be worn valve guides, given that it smokes on start up and used quite a bit of oil.

Something to ponder on that,,,,,,

Take the cylinder head off, get an engineering company to check for hardened valve seats(get them fitted(if not already) so you can use modern fuels)
replace the valve guides and check the head for flatness (get them to skim it level if warped or eroded!)

Use a good quality gasket!

Hope this helps
