My car had a negative earth label affixed to the front body panel.  I obtained a minispares replacement label.  It is too large to fit in the original location.  Is there another location on the car to which these larger labels are affixed?

I suggest adding enough other stuff to justify the shipping charges.  Britishwiring.com is the place to buy replacement/spare bullet connectors, splices, color coded wires, lamps, and all sorts of electrical bits you may want while putting your car back into service.  They have always been good to deal with.  My only complaint is their web site can sometimes be difficult to dig through.

When browsing their web site, look carefully around each page you open to see how many total pages are there for the family of products.  It's all too easy to think they only have "5 items" when they may have 5 pages of 5 items each.  Also pay close attention on each page for links to related items.  With the current web site layout it is VERY easy to miss the part you are looking for.  Still, they are good people to deal with.  

 

By the way, let me know how that mechless radio works out.  I had not heard of them until you posted the link in your other recent thread.  They sound very interesting and may be just the thing for an early Mini.

Thanks Doug.  I have received my radio and four "box" speakers.  All of the components include mounting brackets, and are quite small.  I test-fitted them to the car.  I placed the front speakers under the parcel shelf, and the rear speakers under the rear seat.   I located the radio to the far left of the underside of the parcel shelf.  The speakers are nicely hidden, and the radio face is small enough to be unobtrusive.  I've also ordered an inside mount radio antenna.

 

I hooked up the system on my workbench and operated it.  It's not concert hall quality or volume, but I think adequate for the purpose.  Here's a link to the box speakers.

I have somewhat similar box speakers in my Mini but they came from Radio Shack well over a decade ago.  I did not install front speakers.

 

If I remember correctly, you bought a Pyle radio didn't you?  When I put our Spitfire together for my older son I installed a Pyle marine radio since I was confident it would get wet.  It doesn't have great sound but served the basic functions of music and a clock.
