Can i use a 190 mm clutch in my 1991 998 instead of the 180mm wide one?

yes, as far as I have seen all verto's can take a 190mm plate

190 is for the turbo engines, measure across the wear on your clutch to see what size you need

The thought I read in a Keith Calver article that it was a useful upgrade for the 180mm plate.

Not really needed in a 998.

A skim is highly reccomended if the flywheel has been used with the smaller clutch before

It is for a modified or competition 1275. Otherwise not really necessary.
