Hey there just wondered if anyone had similar issues. I leased the above. Picked it up when it had 3000 ish miles on the clock. I drove it for 8 months clocking a further 3.5k miles. The clutch/flywheel failed on me. The leasing company are after 2k from me as they have designated it was 'customer misuse', or another belter, 'driver abuse'. Been driving manual vehicles for 25 years now and never had a clutch do this. Anyone had similar experience and could offer some advice. They now want to take me to court as I have refused to pay.

Thanks.

you would do better asking on the Mini2 forum as this is for the classic Mini.

As Nick has written above this is a forum for classic minis. You could also try totalmini.

No way a leasing company will pay for any kind of clutch issues

You should have gone through MINI warranty, if your car is less than 24 months old and below a certain mileage they will cover the parts cost, you're likely to pay the labour cost anyway

Well the leasing company took the car from me, and wanted it back on the road so they could lease it again to someone else, so they went ahead and got the job done and paid 2k, now they want the 2k from me, and have taken me to court to retrieve it. I just do not understand how they can prove this was done to careless or abusive driving, and also the car had a previous driver before me who did 3k miles too. So not sure how they can pin it on me. I admit though i am worried some judge who knows jack all about cars may just tell me to pay it.
