This is the sort of thing I'd like to buy if I wasn't so lazy..

It's a full Riley Elf shell. These things run pure Mini mechanicals, so shouldn't be too much trouble. Maybe even bung an A+ in?

Says it need a bit of welding, but what old mini doesn't?

Gotta be worth the asking price of £350?

Ah. Didn't spot that. Not suitable for a classic resto, then - but ideal for a custom job. A bit more unusual than a mini..

Looking at it. it's only the front panels that have been de-seamed, I wouldn't have thought it would be too hard to replace the wings and A-panels and repair the front panel

The very early Elfs didn't have seams.

However, by '67 it should - I am so tempted

Elf's and Hornets had no external seams even on the front wings to A panels on very early cars.

Quote:
"Both the Riley Elf's and Wolseley Hornet's bodies were built at Fisher & Ludlow under their "Fisholow" brandname. Plates in the engine compartment on the right side fitch plate bear evidence of this speciality. Very early Mark I versions of both cars (e.g. press photo of 445MWL) had no overriders on the bumpers and a single piece front wing (A-panel and wing in one piece, no outside seam below scuttle panel) that was soon given up again, allegedly due to cost."
