I've got a reconditioned MPI engine out of a Cooper Sportspack, engine and gearbox are still split. There is also the receipt for just under £800 worth of work, the engine is completely standard... Any ideas what it should be worth?

What work was actually done?
Any warranty left?
Who did the work?

I'll dig the receipt out, as far as I can tell the short engine was completely reconditioned. The gear box also looks like new and a centre oil pick up and new 3.2 ratios have been fitted....

You don't get much reconditioning for £800 ;)

New pistons? What was the mileage before the recondition?

Work was carried out by RTZ transmissions and cost over £1400... I'm going to give them a ring Monday to check exactly what has been done to it. Watch this space...

I've spoken with RTZ the engine has had the following done to it,
New pistons, new rings, rebore possibly +40 depending on condition of bores, ground crank with new bearings, new bearings throughout including new cam shaft bearings. Head has also been fully rebuilt.
The gear box has been fully rebuilt and looks like it's just come out of the factory. All the work was done approximately 2+ years ago and it has been stored inside since then.....
