So after my 72' clubman was sold and went of to Italy, I've since missed owning a mini, i haven't driven one for about 2 years either.

Today Im happy to announce me and my GF have gone halfs on our new venture.,,,

She's a 76' Clubman, 2 owners from new and 32K on clock. A good MOT and no advisories. Were seriously happy with her and at the price we paid too. kept in an old nursery hut and very well maintained it really is amazing the condition. the gentleman that we bought it off also gave me a full interior genuine sound proofing (and new commercial full carpet too already fitted)

Engine bay needs a tidy and clean, not neglected as i have a ton of invoices but is a little dirty!

Completely Original apart from heritage replaced wing, sills and front panel. new brake shoes and wheel cylinders, also new brake hoses all round, rear sub-frame has been changed at some point in the past aswell which is always a bonus! :)

When we picked it today it had a misfire. So fitted new sparks, new leads, new cap and arm before leaving for home and after that started on the key every time and no coughing and spluttering

we also picked up some halogen lights which for us is important as sealed beams just are not good IMO, hi-lows just to lower it a tiny bit and some cosmics mk2 wheels to start refurbishing as i would love to put some alternative 70's shoes on go set it off.

I'm not getting rid of anything of it but just want to make it our own a little bit. And NO I'm not putting a Honda engine in this one ha! this is staying as a Mint piece of 70's clubman heritage :) to us any how!

Drove her 30 miles home and no issues, at all. very happy with her.

things i noticed on the way back were;

Heater doesn't blow hot air; i think is probably just stuck heater cable on top of cylinder head.

need a couple of bushes on the engine mount as there perished; could here it knocking

carb needs adjusting; in slightly higher revs bogs down a little bit

i need an end to the window winder if anyone has one? (shown in picture)

Apart from these minute things is drives really well and gear box feels excellent.

Parked up all snug at home and now to bed!

Cross fingers my girlfriend feels better tomorrow, as she's a bit poorly (currently asleep on me) so she can go for a drive with me in to the sunset ;)

Thats it till tomorrow!

Looks great! I love the brown interior.

Problems you describe don't sound anything serious, just a few nice little jobs for you! The heater issue, when I first bought mine it had the opposite problem, it always blew hot, the tap was half decomposed, changed it and it was fine :)

Is it Harvest Gold , I'm sure it looks. The same as my 1st car. It's in lovely condition, shame it has oversills on though.

thanks man, very excited to getting started, no idea about the carpets to be honest, but they fit very well and it finished the interior nicely :) over sills are not a massive issue for me as it is that clean and i don't think they will cause an issue but ill have them checked out to make sure they 10101% but from what i can see they have been done really well and sealed well :)

Those sills aren't heritage they are sacrilege. Rest of the car looks. Very nice though. Get them pumped full of wax and should last a reasonable amount of time though.

thanks :) we loved it too and glad we made this decision as we said yes to another car previously so we had to ring up and decline the other guy and let them keep the deposit which is sad as we felt so bad about it but things happen for a reason i guess. the guys rang us up the night before after a week and a half trying to get hold of him so had to view it at 7am in the morning when we were picking up the other one at 2 pm! very crazy lol we ended up picking this one up at 6pm at night and left the place at 8pm after fixing the misfire lol

ill take pics of the tap today and post it up :)

Very, very nice looking original Mini, keep it standard right down to the steel wheels it looks the nuts. All I would do other than fix one or two little issues is get the oversills removed and proper sills fitted and sprayer up. A very nice buy - enjoy.
