Hello I've rebuilt my carb.
I fitted a new butterfly plate .
It's a good fit
But it doesn't close tight all the way round.
I had new bushes fitted and a new spindle.
it closes well but not a close fit on top.
I held it up to the light
And a tiny bit of light comes through on only one of the sides.

Might be worth trying this if you haven't already.

Slacken the throttle disc fixing screws enough for the disc to just move.

Ensure that the throttle spindle is in the fully closed position.

Move the throttle disc around the fixing screws ( they may be best nipped up a bit) to a position where it is seated best around the

     circumference  of the carb. bore.

Tighten the throttle fixing screws ensuring as best you can that the disc does not move.

This may well give you the best fit for the throttle disc but if it doesn't then change the old disc back to your original and check again.

    Best of luck.
