Your local tip should have an area for disposal of car oil / fluids / batteries etc

depends how much you have.... if only a litre or 2, i'd probably (checks wife is out of room) put it in the bin... Or take it to the tip or local garage and see if they will take it for you... (they always charge me for "environmental charges" when i have it serviced so i see know reason why they can't take spent oil and fluids off your hands)

REALY BAD ADVICE
Take it to the local tip, they have a waste oil tank for this purpose, and they dont charge you for it.
I also stick the used antifreeze/coolant in there, even if its not right, at least its going some where to be recycled and not down the drain into the rivers or killing the bugs in the efluent plants.
