I had to make a curved spanner for the clutch side, proper crap task but once done you are an official 'tinkerer' for life! Enjoy.

Did you not take anything out to get access? I just can't see it at all.

I Havent had problems with captive ones, and my engine Came out 4 times in less than 2 months last summer..

We've got the captive nut types as well. I'm indifferent about them.

 

You gain some benefits (you're not fiddling trying to hold everything in place while wobbling the engine) but you also can't simple push a stout punch through the hole to level the mount into place as you'll damage the threads.

 

Six of one/half dozen the other.

 

If you're worried about things vibrating loose, use a dab of threadlock.

the problem with the captive type is if the "nut" comes lose, they are not a nut with a hex head so getting something on it to undo it can be a problem

They are, atleast the minisport ones are.
