Hi,
I am out at the mo but would like to know what size are the nuts and bolts that secure the bonnet hinges to the bracket on the upper bulkhead?
I was advised in a post to weld the nuts onto the outer side between the bracket and the inner wing before fitting the scuttle ends.

From memory they would be a 1/4" unf with a nyloc nut so that it can be locked without pinching the bracket...

welding a nut on is a bit silly really.

I can see the logic of welding the nut so you only have to worry about inserting the bolt from the inner side of the bracket, however on a normal nyloc nut you would risk melting the insert. It is fiddly to get to the nut and bolt when the scuttle is on, but do-able for the number of times you may need to do it. You can get seltzer locking nuts used in the aviation industry, but personally I would just assemble and bolt the hinges as normal.
